The game’s only real flaw is the lack of any AI teamwork scenarios in the single-player campaign, but it remains markedly better than the first game, a title that was certainly no slouch.

AvP2’s spookiness is so appealing and adds replay value in the same way that Half-Life was just too cool, you needed to do it all again. If you’re a fan of either of the Aliens or Predator movies, or if you’re simply looking for a great, scare-your-socks-off 3D shooter to keep you busy for ages, Aliens vs Predator 2 is an absolute must have.

The player must then recover the Predator’s weapons and battle humans and Aliens through the research facility in pursuit of Rykov. After a climactic battle with Rykov in the Alien hive the Predator is recovered by others of his species and they pursue the Verloc into space.

As the Alien character the player first takes control of a facehugger , stalking a guard through the Primary Operations Complex and implanting an Alien embryo in him. The player then controls the resulting chestburster , finding food until it grows into an adult Alien. As the Alien the player battles through the complex, releasing other Aliens which infest the facility and cause it to lose contact with Earth.

The game then shifts forward six weeks, when a security failure caused by Corporal Harrison allows the Alien to access the Forward Observation Pods. The player must disable several explosives planted throughout the hive and then pursue Dr. Eisenberg, who is bent on capturing the Alien queen. The player catches up to Eisenberg and the queen, while sabotaging Eisenberg’s extraction by dropship and defeating the scientist. Eisenberg is then cocooned in the hive and revealed to be an android.

The game received “favorable” reviews according to the review aggregation website Metacritic. This game has great graphics, of couse not as good as Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, but a step or 2 below but is still good!

I had one problem. I kept getting a message “Problem downloading cres. I tried downloading the game 3 separate times the same day and the game wouldn’t work. I use a defragmenter in the background Diskeeper. It must of been moving this file when I was trying to download the game. The game must use this file from the operating system instead of it being on the disk. I thought the disk was corrupted since I tried 3 times. So if you get any message like this and run a defragmenter in the background, give it a few days then try again.

The oversight committee is getting worried, although Eisenberg insists he will rectify the issues. Meanwhile, Major Dunya of the Iron Bears delivers a large container to Captain Richter of the cargo vessel Aurora ; Richter has been smuggling artifacts stolen by the Iron Bears off-world.

Noting that the crate is larger than normal, he attempts to scan it, but finds the container is shielded against scanning. Richter is called away to a meeting with General Rykov and, while refueling the Aurora , the crate is knocked over, revealing a Xenomorph Egg within.

The disturbed Egg hatches and the player-controlled Facehugger emerges. When Cisco retires to his quarters for a nap, the Facehugger springs on him and impregnates him. In due time, the player-controlled Chestburster hatches, killing Cisco.

It flees through an open window and proceeds through the POC until it finds nourishment — cats apparently kept for research purposes. It feeds and rapidly molts into a full-grown Drone. The Drone immediately begins fighting its way through the POC, releasing other Xenomorphs being kept as test subjects along the way.
